International Mother Language Day celebrated

Deepa Nair presented a Malayalam song highlighting uniqueness Kerala

International Mother Language Day was celebrated on the virtual platform recently with interesting poetry and songs. Organised by the Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence, the programme titled Kaavyaanjali had highlighted 27 languages, including some that are endangered.
Representing Malayalam, Nottingham based Deepa Nair performed a beautiful Malayalam poem, ‘En Malayala Nadin Peruma’ highlighting the uniqueness of Kerala. Diplomats, eminent literary figures, renowned singers and community members have participated in the event. Former Maldivian Diplomat Hassan Shifau, diplomat and Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassy of Nepal in London Mrs Roshan Khanal, Tim Brookes from USA, Founder of Atlas of Endangered Alphabets have spoken on the occasion. Also presented on the occasion are renowned composer from Ladakh Rinchen Wacher, singing sensation of Punjab Amrinder Bobby, Nepali poet Acharya Durga Prasad Pokhrel, among others.
