Family, friends and members of the wider community gathered to bid a heartfelt final farewell to Rini Pius Kunnachery, held at Kollad in Kerala. The most emotional moments came through the heartfelt tributes by her daughters, Maria, Achu and Sana, whose words reflected the love, strength and values their mother had instilled in them. Their touching farewell showed that although Rini has left this world far too soon, she prepared her daughters well for life. An equally moving tribute was delivered by Rini’s husband, Pius Kunnachery, who reflected on their life together and her extraordinary courage throughout her illness. Despite facing years of health challenges, she chose to live with joy and optimism, rarely allowing her illness to define her. She entered the operating theatre with a smile and, before leaving for India for treatment, drove herself to church to receive a final blessing from her parish priest—a powerful testament to her deep faith and trust in God.
Those who knew Rini will remember her for her warm smile, generous heart and ability to make everyone feel valued. While her earthly journey has ended far too soon, her legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched with love, grace and unwavering faith.

Messages of Condolence and Community Support
The family’s loss was shared by a much wider circle, with heartfelt messages of condolence pouring in from across the United Kingdom, India and around the world. Among those paying tribute were Rt Hon David Lammy MP, former UK Deputy Prime Minister, who sent a deeply personal message of sympathy, and Virendra Sharma, former Member of Parliament, who conveyed his sincere condolences. Both had previously visited the Kunnachery family home as part of community and business delegations organised by the British South India Council of Commerce (BSICC), where Pius Kunnachery serves as a Director.
The family also expressed special gratitude to Chandy Oommen, who was among the first to visit and personally offer his condolences, as well as Thomas Chazhikadan MP, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Anto Antony MP, Jose K. Mani MP, Mons Joseph, Roshy Augustine, K. J. Thomas, George Kallivayalil, Delhi Bureau Chief of Deepika, leaders and representatives of the BJP–NDA, and numerous political, community and faith leaders whose presence, prayers and messages brought comfort during this difficult time.
