We would like to warmly request all registered Malayalee nurses to consider voting for Bijoy Sebastian in the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) election. He has worked tirelessly and with dedication for the representation and rights of Malayalee nurses in the UK.

RCN President

Bijoy Sebastian took charge as President of the Royal College of Nursing in January 2025. His leadership has played a valuable role in securing greater recognition for the contributions of internationally educated nurses, and in bringing attention to the professional challenges they face.

His profile, published by the RCN, highlights his journey from Kerala, his work as a critical care nurse, and his continued advocacy on behalf of international nurses.

Since arriving from Kerala and building a distinguished career in UK nursing, Bijoy Sebastian has served as Chair of the International Nursing and Midwifery Association Network UK. He has also held various roles in critical care at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

After completing his nursing education at Kottayam Medical College, Bijoy Sebastian arrived in the UK in March 2011. Over the past decade and a half, alongside building an outstanding professional career, he has remained committed to raising the concerns of internationally educated nurses across the UK.

“Look what we have achieved” –  “നമ്മൾ ഒരുമിച്ച് നേടിയ നേട്ടങ്ങൾ”

Reflecting on the achievements of his time as RCN President, Bijoy kindly reminded the nursing community of their collective accomplishments through his message, “Look what we have achieved.”

For Malayalee nurses who are RCN members, this election offers a valuable opportunity to voice their opinion and help choose who will lead the nursing profession.

We respectfully request all eligible Malayalee nurses registered with the RCN to kindly vote in support of Bijoy Sebastian.

His own experience as an internationally educated nurse, his deep understanding of the challenges faced by nurses arriving in the UK from abroad, and his genuine commitment to the nursing community make him a strong and worthy candidate.

We kindly ask you to cast your vote, and to encourage fellow Malayalee RCN members to do the same.
