The countdown begins for the much-anticipated grand premiere of MAUK Drishyakala’s latest production, ‘Theyyam,’ a mesmerising portrayal of the vibrant tribal art form of Kerala.

Scheduled for the 13th of April 2024, the prestigious Champion School Auditorium in Hornchurch is set to host this captivating event, where attendees will be transported into the enchanting world of Muchilot Bhagavathi and Maruthiyodan Kurickal, as they bear witness to two timeless narratives of oppression and retribution.

The Malayalee Association of the UK (MAUK) proudly presents this theatrical production, delving into the depths of Theyyam folklore, a sacred Hindu ritual deeply rooted in the cultural tapestry of Northern Kerala. With the participation of talented artists and technicians from the UK, the project aims to unravel the origins and significance of two iconic Theyyam tales.
