The United Kingdom is grieving the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the country’s longest-serving monarch.

The UK will observe a period of national mourning until the Queen’s funeral is held.  The government is due to confirm the length of national mourning, which is likely to be around 12 days.

To express our mark of respect to Her Majesty the Queen, the following organisations have postponed their events. New dates will be announced later.

  1. Harvest Festival at St James Mar Thoma Church (10th September) – Postponed
  2. Onam at Indian YMCA, London (11th September) – Postponed.
  3. Onam celebrations of the Malayalee Association of the UK at East Ham Town Hall (17 September 2022) – Postponed.

The Union of UK Malayalee Organisations(UUKMA) has requested all member associations to postpone events during the time of national mourning.

If you are attending any of the public events up to 19th September, including any Onam celebrations, please check with the organisers before travelling to the venue.
