Children’s Forum Inspired by Jawahar Bal Manch to Foster Talent and Indian Values Among the Young Generation
The Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) – UK, Kerala Chapter is set to launch a new initiative for children aged 6 to 15 Years — the ‘Kerala Balajana Sakhyam’, modeled after India’s historic Jawahar Bal Manch. The Official Inauguration, Logo & By-law release ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Priyadarshini Library Hall, within the IOC (UK) – Kerala Chapter Midlands Office Complex in Farnworth, Bolton.
Prominent political and cultural figures from India and the UK are expected to participate in the event, both in person and virtually.
The new children’s collective aims to nurture artistic, athletic, and intellectual skills, while shaping a generation grounded in Indian culture, values, and social awareness—all within the framework of the law and society of the country they live in. Operating under the guidance of senior members, the platform seeks to build leadership and community spirit among children.
Key supporters of the initiative include AICC Secretary and Karnataka MLC Dr. Arathi Krishna, IOC (UK) National Committee President Kamal Dhaliwal, and leaders from the KPCC and Jawahar Bal Manch, whose backing was instrumental in establishing the new forum.
Coinciding with Children’s Day celebrations, the inauguration day will feature a vibrant line-up of events, including speech and colouring competitions (‘Vaakkum Varyayum’), a seminar and exhibition titled ‘Chachaji’ dedicated to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, as well as membership distribution and award presentations for competition winners and participants.
Looking ahead, Kerala Balajana Sakhyam plans to host youth festivals that will encompass art, literature, and sports competitions, offering a dynamic stage for young talents to shine.
