A community-driven business networking and knowledge-sharing event aimed at encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset among Malayalees in the UK will be held in Reading on Saturday, 11 April, organised by MARC – Malayalee Association of Reading Community.
The event, designed as an open and supportive forum rather than a formal seminar or training programme, will bring together seven to eight successful entrepreneurs who have built and scaled businesses in the UK and overseas. Through candid conversations, panel discussions and live Q&A sessions, the speakers will share their real-life journeys, including risks taken, mistakes made and breakthroughs achieved.
According to the organisers, the initiative is intended to offer practical insight into what it truly takes to start and grow a business in the UK. Participants will also have opportunities for informal networking and peer connections in a relaxed, community-focused environment.
The programme will feature entrepreneurs from diverse sectors including education, technology, food, biotechnology, retail, digital media and community leadership. Among the speakers are Febin Cyriac, Founder and CEO of Envertiz Group, known for building international ventures across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and Dr Harsh Amin, CEO and CSO of Ivy Farm Technologies, who is a regular commentator on food innovation and security.
Also speaking at the event is Philip Abraham, Founder of the UK–Kerala Business Forum and former Mayor of Loughton, who has been actively involved in empowering the Indian diaspora through civic and business engagement.
Technology entrepreneurship will be represented by Shine Mathew, Founder of AyataCommerce and InvoTools, while the hospitality and culinary sector will be highlighted by Chef Jomon, award-winning celebrity chef and Director of Culinary at The Tiffinbox.
Other speakers include Nordi Jacob, Founder of Tutorsvalley and UK Event Life; Sachin Pattathuparambil, a licensed pilot and digital influencer; and Deepa Joseph along with Deepthi, co-founders of Theresa’s London, a fast-growing online fashion brand.
The event is open to professionals exploring business ideas, students and career changers, aspiring entrepreneurs, early-stage founders and anyone curious about entrepreneurship. Organisers say the focus is on clarity, confidence and meaningful connections rather than theory-driven presentations.
The programme will take place from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm at Kennet Valley Community Centre, Reading. Tickets are priced at £10.
