Sruthi UK is all set to host its highly anticipated 19th annual day celebration, a vibrant tribute to Kerala’s rich art, culture, and literature. The event will take place at the Chapman’s Theatre, Queen Margaret’s School for Girls, Escrick Park Estate, York, YO19 6EU on the 6th of April.

Established in 2005 by a group of passionate individuals from Kerala residing in the UK, Sruthi aims to promote Kerala’s artistic and literary legacy among the Malayali community in the United Kingdom. Over the years, Sruthi’s annual events have grown in both quality and popularity, attracting enthusiasts from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

This year’s celebration promises an enchanting display of cultural prowess, featuring captivating performances in dance, music, and drama by Sruthi’s dedicated members. These individuals, driven by their unwavering commitment, often travel long distances to attend rehearsals across various locations in the UK, ensuring a high-caliber program.

A highlight of this year’s event will be the presence of two distinguished guests—renowned music director Sri Vidyadharan Master and acclaimed theatre artist Sri Gireesan Sopanam. Sri Vidyadharan Master, with an illustrious 60-year career in music composition and playback singing, will be honored during the festivities.

Sri Gireesan Sopanam, recipient of the Kendra Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award, will enthrall the audience with a soul-stirring solo theatre performance titled ‘Antharyami,’ directed by the esteemed Sri Kavalam Narayana Panicker.

In addition to performances by Sruthi’s in-house talent in music, dance, and drama, attendees will have the rare opportunity to delve into the musical journey of Sri Vidyadharan Master, spanning nearly five decades.
