Sree Narayana Guru Mission of the UK invites the community to its 172nd Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi & Onam Celebrations on Saturday, 5 September 2026, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at Eastbury Community School, Hulse Avenue, Barking IG11 9UW.
The celebrations will showcase Kerala’s rich cultural heritage through Thiruvathira, Chenda Melam, classical and contemporary dance, violin, music and other cultural performances.
A major highlight will be “Shukranakshathram”, a musical drama based on the life and works of legendary Malayalam poet Mahakavi Kumaran Asan, presented by Guruprabha and adapted and directed by Sasi S Kulamada.
The event will be attended by distinguished guests including Rt Hon. Sir Stephen Timms MP, Mayor of Newham Forhad Hussain, and Dr. Alex Gath, Fellow at the University of Oxford.
